Lost or Found Pet?
If you found a pet with no identification, be sure to have them scanned for a microchip (a form of permanent identification). We would be happy to scan the pet for you–all veterinarians and shelters should have a scanner. If you lost your pet, be sure to notify your area veterinarians and all of the shelters. Personally visit the shelters at least every three days to check for your pet.
If your pet is microchipped, notify the chip registration company and be sure your registered information is current.
AAHA’s universal microchip directory should give you the contact information for the registry for any microchip’s number.
